Aluminium’s ductility makes it highly malleable, allowing it to withstand the rigorous drawing and forming processes necessary for cookware manufacturing. The corrosion resistance of the 1200 alloy, commonly used in making aluminium pots and pans, is exceptional, as its natural aluminium oxide coating acts as a protective barrier against air, moisture, and temperature changes, preventing rust. Furthermore, aluminium has high thermal conductivity—four times greater than steel and eight times that of cast iron—making it ideal for applications involving heating and cooling. This is why aluminium is commonly used in the base of all stainless steel cookware.
