We were really excited to see how this worked. We played with it in the kitchen and the tub. Unfortunately it doesn’t change back to its original color as easily as we hoped. You need real ice water (using ice cubes in the water) to get it to change. We thought cold water would work, but it’s not cold enough. It would be more fun if it easily changed from warm water to cold water without having to use ice cubes. Also, we tried just putting in the freezer ...

My 5 year old's school was temporarily closed as a result of a COVID outbreak so I pulled out the Color Shifter car as a way to give him some fun, an opportunity to use his imagination, discuss science, and distraction while I tried to eek out some work. He loved the car. It was different than his usual collection of Hot Wheels. He played independently for awhile experimenting with water temperatures. I would definitely recommend.

My six year old son loves all things hot wheels and anything that color changes. When you merge the two together you have one ecstatic kid that spends at least an hour in the bathroom switching his hot wheels car color back and forth. That is a win all day!

The car did not change colors. The flames visible no matter the temperature water used. It was a little disappointing because we thought it would change looks, but it didn't. The car itself will stay in our hotwheel collection but it definitely didn't do what we expected it to.

It does change color but it has to be very cold water, not just cool tap water. I will add that my car was already a dark color and changed to another dark color, lighter colors may not take so long to change. I would buy it again, but probably wouldn't go out of my way to get it.

So this toy was a bit disappointing. We found to change the color it needed to be in ice water or warm water. Having a little boy move this car from one cup to the other was fine for awhile, but then it just leaves a puddle and a wet kid. Once he got tired of that, he just left the truck alone, and now its a weird dirty greenish-white color. Its a fun idea, but not worth any extra money.

The hot wheel car is very sturdy and holds up to rough play. Even my cute little terror hasn’t been able to break it with a month of play. We love that it color changes depending on the temperature of the water. The only reason I am giving it a 4 star instead of five is the orange car changes colors but it is very subtle and hard to tell without a side by side comparison of the color change. We would have liked a more visible vibrant change.

The car lives in the bath tub. My son absolutely loves getting to play with it every time he takes a bath. He really enjoys making it change colors and keeps a cup of cold water on the rim of the tub ti dunk it in. I think of the toys he has received this one has kept his interest the longest. He has been playing with it since we recurved it.

Hot Wheels are a long standing favorite in our family and these color shifters don’t disappoint! Our boys collect them, trade them and play with them for hours. The color shifters is a new twist and adds to their imaginative play. A quick dunk in warm water changes the color and cold water changes it back. We now have cars racing in the bath!

My 4 year old absolutely loves this car. The colors are bright and vivid and its fun to watch it change colors when it goes from warm to cold. He racing around the house with it as well as takes it in the bath.
