The Ottoman has a very strong ashy smell (coal/burn) inside which ends up transferring to whatever you store inside. I thought with time it's going to wear off but no. I tried diffusers and fabric sprays with no luck. Other than that the material is good. However, I wouldn't recommend an adult to sit on it.
