QUICK DOS & DON’TS FOR CAST IRON:
- Do cook a variety of foods, including eggs, tomatoes, and fish – with practice they come out perfectly.
- Do start with simple, higher-fat dishes at first to build up good seasoning.
- Do use gentle utensils like wood, silicone or rubber. Occasional metal use is fine, but avoid aggressive scraping.
- Don’t store food in the pot – it can damage the seasoning and affect flavour.
- Do clean the pot soon after cooking and avoid soaking it in water.
