This Voltage Reducing Device (VRD) welding machine is designed for safer operation in demanding environments, including underground and damp conditions, in line with most South African mining safety requirements. The integrated VRD limits maximum open circuit voltage at the output terminals to below 15 V when not welding, significantly reducing shock risk. Once welding starts, the machine rapidly switches to the higher open circuit voltage (around 56 V) required for easy arc striking. Compact and lightweight, it delivers a stable arc with excellent striking and re‑striking capability, and features Hot Start for smoother manual metal arc welding. Built‑in over‑voltage and over‑current protection enhance durability and safety. Also suitable for scratch‑start TIG welding, the unit is supplied complete with welding cables. Please note: the VRD is fully built‑in and cannot be switched on or off.
