Ah yes, the sneaky tomato. The fruit that is also vegetable-curious. In fact, in 1887, the Americans went as far as to technically classify it as a vegetable – but this was purely for tax reasons. (Which is a very American thing to do.) The Germans entirely bypassed that particular debate, and declared the tomato a Wolf Peach (Wolfpfirsich) capable of summoning werewolves. (Which is a very German thing to do.) In Mzansi, we keep things much simpler, of course. Tomatoes are for juicing, and that juice goes into Bloody Marys. That’s all.
