The SUPERPURE 20 inch Slimline Replacement GAC Water Filter (3-Pack) is a handy pack of Granular Activated Carbon filters designed specifically for your Slimline (2.5") Filter systems. Granular Active Carbon is carbon that has been treated with oxygen to make it porous, but it has also been broken up into granules to further increase the surface area for chemical bondage to occur. The water passes through the GAC filter, allowing the organic materials and chlorine to effectively bond with the carbon molecules, thus removing these from the water. Granular Activated Carbon (GAC) has a high surface area, providing a large number of adsorption sites for contaminants; this allows it to effectively adsorb a wide range of impurities, such as volatile organic compounds (VOCs), chlorine and odours from your water.
