The SUPERPURE 10 inch Slimline Basic Pre-Filter Replacement Set is a handy set to replace your filter units on your pre-filter system. Replacing your water filters is essential for maintaining the effectiveness and efficient filtration of your filtration system. Specifically for compact 10 inch Slimline (2.5 inch diameter) size filter systems. A pre-filter system helps ensure that larger particles, debris, dust and foreign bodies from old pipework are removed before reaching your main filtration system. Pre-filtration works to ensure your main filtration system has a longer lifespan and works more effectively. 3- Stages of Filtration: Sediment Filtration - Melt Blown Polypropylene (PP) Filter: The polypropylene (PP) filter filters out larger particulates with it's minute 5 micron rating enabling you to filter sediment, dirt, dust, sand, rust and other particulates in your water as small as 5 microns in size. The melt blown design of the utilizes a multi-layered structure for improved filtration efficiency, with denser layers at the inside to trap finer particles and coarser layers outside to catch larger particles. First Stage of Carbon Filtration - GAC (Granular Activated Carbon) Filter: Granular Active Carbon is carbon that has been treated with oxygen to make it porous, but it has also been broken up into granules to further increase the surface area for chemical bondage to occur. The water passes through the GAC filter, allowing the organic materials and chlorine to effectively bond with the carbon molecules, thus removing these from the water. Second Stage of Carbon Filtration - Activated Carbon Block (CTO) Filter: Carbon Block Filters are made from finely ground activated carbon particles that are bonded together and formed into a solid block under high pressure. They have a uniform structure that's density can vary depending on the manufacturing process. Due to their dense structure, they generally have a slower flow rate but provide more comprehensive contact time, allowing for better contaminant removal. The tight filtration structure also enables the removal of smaller particles and impurities due to the fine micron rating. Why replace your filters?
